Manhattan Beer Distributors knows that in order to effect change, we all must contribute. For this reason, Manhattan Beer Distributors dedicates a great deal of time and effort towards minimizing the company's environmental footprint.
Manhattan Beer Distributors was the first company in the North East to convert a portion of their Diesel fleet of trucks to Compressed Natural Gas, or CNG trucks.
Over the past 13 years, since the onset of the program, Manhattan Beer Distributors has expanded this fleet, currently operating with 75 CNG delivery trucks as well as 3 private CNG on-site fueling stations.
In the future, Manhattan Beer Distributors plans to order 30 trucks per year and open 2 additional CNG fueling stations, which will be made available to the public.
In addition, Manhattan Beer Distributors receives two-third of their product by rail, thus annually removing 10,000 tractor-trailer trucks from the roads and streets.
By December 31, 2013, the Bronx Corporate Headquarters will have solar panels covering the complete roof and warehouse. It will supply 1.1 Meg of Power and will be the single largest, privately owned installation in NYC. Manhattan Beer Distributors aims to expand the Solar Panel Program by installing the panels in the Suffern and Queens facilities as well.
Moreover, Manhattan Beer Distributors is in the process of retro fitting LED Lighting into all of the facilities. Currently the Bronx and Suffern Branches are equipped with LED Lighting.
